UTAH, Dec. 2, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — For anyone who’s been cut off in traffic and screamed at the unhearing offenders that Utah drivers are the worst, your validation has arrived.
The Beehive state’s motorists really are the worst, according to new information released by QuoteWizard, an online insurance source, which says:
“According to our data, Utah’s drivers are the worst in the union. They’re second in the rankings for both accidents and speeding, as well as fourth-worst for minor citations. Surprising for a state known for its non-drinking populace, Utah actually made the top 10 for DUIs, coming in at number nine.
“On the bright side, Utah missed our list of worst states for fatalities, so at least fewer people are dying in all those accidents.”
According to the site, its study is based on a sampling of incident data from website users and on the Federal Highway Administration fatality data.
“The final rankings are a sum of weighted means which is calculated from total accidents, speeding tickets, DUI, citations and fatalities,” the website states.

In addition, the site’s study found that in general, East Coasters drive more safely than do West Coasters, and Republican-leaning state drivers do better than those dominated by Democrats. Utah seems to be the exception.
