GRANTSVILLE RESERVOIR, Tooele County, Utah, July 27, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — Late Friday night the Grantsville Reservoir was closed as a search continued for a missing swimmer presumed deceased.
In an 11 p.m. post online Friday the Tooele County Sheriff’s Office announced, “The Sheriff’s Office is conducting a search in Grantsville Reservoir for an adult male who disappeared in the reservoir on the night of Thursday, July 25th.
“For the safety of everyone and to aid in the search efforts, the reservoir is CLOSED to all recreational activities until further notice.
“We kindly ask everyone to avoid the area and respect the closure. Thank you for your cooperation.”
Boats and divers returned to the reservoir at first light Friday after a man went missing Thursday while swimming, reported at about 9:30 p.m.
