HOLLYWOOD, Calif., March 10, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — “The Most Interesting Man in the World” is out of a job, according to Adweek.com

Jonathan Goldsmith, 77, has played “The Most Interesting Man In The World” in a popular series of ads for Dos Equis since 2006. His catchphrase, “I don’t always drink beer, but when I do, I prefer Dos Equis,” has worked its way into Internet culture.

Before landing the job with Dos Equis, Goldsmith had a series of jobs on TV including “Dallas,” “Magnum P.I,” “MacGyver,” “Knight Rider,” “T.J. Hooker” and “Murder She Wrote” to name a few.

He tried out for the “Most Interesting Man” role at the suggestion of his then-agent and now wife Barbara, and according to an interview with NPR, Goldsmith did the audition using a Fernando Lamas impression. The rest is history.

The newest ad for Dos Equis shows the “Most Interesting Man,” taking off in a spaceship on a one-way trip to Mars.

Executives from Heineken USA (the company that owns Dos Equis) says that the ad campaign will continue with a new actor.
