OLJATO, Utah, Dec. 24, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) – A Colorado homicide suspect has been arrested in southern Utah.
According to a press release from the Navajo Police Department, “Jeremiah Hight, 23, of the Ute Mountain Tribe, was arrested at 3:52 p.m., on December 24, 2024, on top of a mesa, west of Oljato, by the Navajo Police Department K-9 Unit and the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) Division of Drug Enforcement.”
Hight was wanted for the murder of a minor on the Ute Mountain Reservation, in Towaoc, CO., in the early morning hours of December 11, 2024. The minor was killed in a shooting, targeted at a residence, the Navajo PD press release said.
“Law enforcement authorities have been searching for Hight in the Oljato area since Saturday, December 21, after a federal arrest warrant for murder and other charges was issued by the Federal Bureau of Investigations-Durango Office.
“He was taken into federal custody without incident.”
