April 21 (UPI) — Celine Dion says she sleeps with her twins in the wake of Rene Angelil’s death.
The 49-year-old singer said in an interview with Dan Wootton for The Sun’s Bizarre that she’s shared a “huge” bed with 6-year-old sons Nelson and Eddy since Angelil died in 2016.
“I organize myself to not feel lonely,” Dion said. “So I got myself a huge, huge, huge bed and I sleep with my twins. They are comforting me a lot. I need them. I need them close.”
“We kiss him every night,” she added. “We have a little ritual where we say goodnight to him with a little picture. Then the kids talk to him. And they write words, put them in balloons and we send the balloons to the sky.”
Dion, who is also mom to 16-year-old son Rene-Charles, also spoke to Wootton for a new episode of the ITV talk show “Lorraine.” She said Angelil lives on through their children and the memories she shares with her sons.
“He gave me three magnificent children. I see him through them every day. Rene will never, ever leave me. Not only is he in my heart, he performs with me,” the star said.
“Even though they don’t have their papa anymore, mama is there, and papa is there because papa is in their heart,” she added. “I’m extremely proud of my children.”
Angelil died at age 73 in January 2016 after a long battle with cancer. Dion told Extra in February that her sons have been coping with Angelil’s death “very well,” and that they help each other stay strong as a family.
