LOS ANGELES, Sept. 18 (UPI) — HBO’s blood-soaked, medieval-fantasy series “Game of Thrones” was declared Best Drama at the Emmy Awards ceremony in Los Angeles Sunday night.
Rami Malek scored the prize for Best Actor in a Drama for his portrayal of a brilliant, computer hacker with multiple-personality disorder in USA Network’s “Mr. Robot,” while Tatiana Maslany scored the honor for Best Actress in a Drama for playing numerous clones on BBC America’s “Orphan Black.”
No-show Maggie Smith won the award for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama for her work in the PBS soap “Downton Abbey” and Ben Mendelsohn took home the statuette for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in Netflix’s Florida thriller “Bloodline.”
