LOS ANGELES, Sept. 16 (UPI) — Kanye West is now a free man after completing over 240 community service hours to fulfill his sentence after a paparazzi battery case.
West’s lawyer, Blair Berk, was present in court Tuesday morning to finish the case surrounding an incident when the “Black Skinhead” singer pushed a photographer to the ground at LAX. Berk handed over a letter from the Dean of the Los Angeles Trade Technical College where West completed his service in the fashion design program. TMZ reports the letter commended the rapper on his work.
“The contribution of the hands-on community service Mr. West has completed with our school has been of great benefit to our students and program,” the letter reportedly read. West did more than the ordered 240 hours he needed to complete his sentence; instead, he did 262.
Although his community service is officially complete, West is still on informal probation after pleading no contest to his misdemeanor last March.
