MORGAN COUNTY, Utah, July 17, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — Multiple agencies came to the rescue Tuesday afternoon after a dump truck went off the road in Peterson, an unincorporated community a few miles from Interstate 84 in Morgan County.

A Mountain Green Fire statement says the “truck apparently lost its brakes coming downhill, went off the road, across a field and into the hillside. Mountain Green Engine 131 joined Morgan County Fire & EMS units to help rescue the driver who had non-life-threatening injuries from the crash.”

The call came in at 12:55 p.m. Getting the driver out of the dump truck was complicated, the statement says.

“Extrication from the cab was difficult due to how the truck came to rest. Units stabilized the loaded truck with jacks and cribbing before rescuing the driver.”

Cribbing devices are strong, adjustable poles used to stabilize a vehicle.

The Mountain Green Fire statement says the Utah Highway Patrol is the investigating agency.
