PROVO, Utah, Nov. 14, 2025 (Gephardt Daily) — A BYU basketball player was arrested on suspicion of DUI following a morning crash in Provo, police said Thursday night.
The Provo Police Department reported that officers responded at approximately 11:45 a.m. to a crash at the intersection of 900 West and Center Street.
During the investigation, officers determined there was cause to arrest 20-year-old Kennard Davis, Jr. for driving under the influence. Davis was transported to the Provo Police Station for further investigation and was subsequently cited for DUI, according to a Provo PD news release.
Davis was released for medical treatment of minor injuries sustained in the crash, and his vehicle was impounded, according to Provo PD.
BYU Athletics acknowledged the arrest in a brief statement, saying, “We are aware of the allegations and looking into the situation.”
No additional details regarding the crash or other possible injuries were released.
