SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Nov. 16, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — Actor Charlie Sheen’s ex-wife Brooke Mueller has been hospitalized after being located by Utah Highway Patrol, according to a statement released late Wednesday by the Utah Department of Public Safety.
“On the morning of November 16, dispatchers with the Utah Department of Public Safety received a welfare check call from a woman claiming to be the mother of Brooke Mueller,” the release states. “Troopers with the Utah Highway Patrol responded to the welfare check call and located Mueller, her two children and a nanny on Interstate 15 near Nephi, Utah. The children are safe and will be released to family. Mueller was taken to an area hospital for evaluation. The State Bureau of Investigation is currently investigating the incident. We do not have any more information to release at this time.”
Mueller and Sheen are the parents of 7-year-old twins. Mueller and the twins were located after a brief search in Salt Lake City, police said Wednesday.
TMZ reported Mueller was spotted looking disheveled in a Salt Lake City bar Tuesday night with the twins, Bob and Max.
Detective Robert Ungricht, of the Salt Lake City Police Department, said his agency was asked to do a welfare check on a woman in the area of 1700 South and Foothill Drive, but when officers arrived, they discovered the woman and her children had left the location in a vehicle.
The Utah Highway Patrol located the vehicle and stopped it, Ungricht said, and determined the woman and her children were not in danger and had broken no laws.
Ungricht said at noon Wednesday that he’d been fielding calls from the national media all morning, with everyone asking SLCPD’s part in the search for Mueller and her sons.
Witnesses told TMZ there was a nanny with them Tuesday night and Mueller got into an altercation with her, then the police were called because of that fight and because Mueller had two children in a bar. Witnesses added that the group left the scene before law enforcement arrived.
Multiple reports confirm that Mueller, 39, moved to Utah earlier this year for rehab, and since then has been living in Park City with her sons.
