UTAH COUNTY, Utah, July 28, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Authorities in Utah County say a man was killed Sunday afternoon after being struck by falling rocks at Bridal Veil Falls in Provo Canyon.
Word of the deadly incident was first reported by Sgt. Spencer Canyon, public information officer for the Utah County Sheriff’s Office.
According to Cannon, the victim was climbing near the waterfall when he was hit by falling rocks and boulders and knocked to the ground below.
Investigators initially thought the man was the victim of an accidental fall before determining he’d been struck by the falling debris.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim’s name has yet to be released.
