WEST HAVEN, Utah, April 2, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — A family of four was displaced Tuesday evening when a fire started in the kitchen of their mobile home.
“The fire started around a stove and burned part of the kitchen and hallway,” Weber Fire District Battalion Chief Mark Lund told Gephardt Daily.
Lund said the call reporting the fire, at Century Mobile Home Park on 2100 South, was received at 7:16 p.m., and crews had the fire under control within four to five minutes of their arrival.
The home sustained some smoke damage throughout, but Lund said the majority of the fire damage was confined to the kitchen, where he said “they’ll need to replace cabinets and things and repaint.”
Lund estimated the dollar amount of damages at $10,000 to $15,000.
No one was injured in the fire, and the Red Cross was on scene to help the family with temporary accommodations.
The exact cause of the fire is still under investigation.
