Ogden fire displaces 3, causes $60K damage

OGDEN, Utah, Dec. 7, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — A residential fire in Ogden displaced three people and caused an estimated $60,000 in damages.

The fire was called in to Weber County Dispatch at 1:21 a.m. on Friday. Crews responded to the scene, at 318 Franklin St., and found all three residents outside and safe.

Seventeen firefighters and a battalion chief were on scene from the Ogden and South Ogden Fire Departments, a tweet from the Ogden Fire Department said. They had three ladder trucks, one engine, one ambulance, and one paramedic rescue vehicle.

The fire was declared under control at 2:01 a.m. The Red Cross responded to the scene to help those displaced.

Fire crews remained to perform salvage and overhaul procedures.

“There are no injuries associated with this incident,” an OFD tweet said. “Damage is estimated at 60,000 dollars,” adding that the cause of the fire had not been determined.
