Man Fatally Shot In West Valley Neighborhood Identified
WEST VALLEY CITY, UTAH – July 27, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) – West Valley City Police have identified a man who was shot to death inside his West Valley City home early Saturday morning.
According to West Valley City Police Lt. Dalan Taylor, officers were called to 4150 Bluejay Street around 1 a.m. “Officers entered the home and found signs of some sort of a struggle and the victim was already deceased with a gunshot wound to the head,” Taylor said.
The victim has been identified as 63-year-old Steven Louis Valdez. Investigators say three men forced their way into the home and after a confrontation with Valdez they shot him. Police have not been able to identify the suspects at this time but said they were all dressed in black and had their faces covered. They have not been able to determine what connection Valdez had with the suspects.
Police did, however, take possession of a grey Chevrolet Tahoe which officers think may have been involved in the incident.
A number of potential witnesses were being questioned by detectives at the scene.
More on this developing story as the facts become available.
