SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, May 22, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — A partially blind woman was taken to an area hospital in serious condition Monday evening after being hit by an electric car that she may not have heard, police said.
The incident happened at 100 S. 700 East just before 8:35 p.m., according to a news release from the Salt Lake City Police Department. It’s not known whether the woman was in a crosswalk, officials said, but there is a crosswalk at that location.
“The woman was crossing 100 South northbound when she was struck by a vehicle,” the news release said. “The vehicle that struck the victim is electric and makes no sound so the victim may not have heard the car.”
The victim was taken to a local hospital in serious condition but was updated upon arrival to stable condition, with minor injuries.
