Popular Salt Lake City radio personalities Todd and Erin canned at Rewind 100.7 FM

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Dec. 11, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — A difficult year for popular Salt Lake City radio personalities Todd Collard and Erin Fraser has become even more difficult in the last few days as the couple learned their contract with Broadway Media-owned radio station Rewind 100.7 would not be renewed.

While Erin and Todd have been off the air for a couple of weeks, word of their firing was first made public Friday in a statement posted on the couple’s Facebook page.

“Hey, remember that moment in ‘Forrest Gump’ when Lt. Dan is screaming at the hurricane that is about to swamp their boat? Yeah, someone must have been daring the Universe to sink us, because Rewind 100.7 notified us that they will not be renewing our contract and we will be leaving the show immediately,” the statement said.

“We’re genuinely sad because we truly loved the people we worked with, and the company we worked for.”

It’s been a tumultuous year for the veteran Salt Lake radio team.

In May, the couple announced the sudden loss of their 16-year-old son, MacLean, who had long been battling a seizure disorder. The couple had often spoken of their son and the challenges he faced with autism, but rather than focus on the hardships it presented, the couple focused on the joy their son brought to a family who accepted and loved him unconditionally.

“2016 is shaping up to be a year you want to throw in the disposal and grind up into little bits to be flushed away,” Collard’s post continued. “In any case, we have been so grateful to you for your support since we have lost MacLean, and you’ve taught us grace under pressure.”

Sadly, the couple’s family is enduring another personal loss this weekend. On Saturday, Todd announced the passing his mother, a disciplined and caring New England school teacher whom Collard credits for helping him overcome learning disabilities at an early age.

Todd and Erin fans have not taken kindly to the couple’s non-renewal. Their inquiries and comments posted on the station’s social media page generated a short response from 100.7:

“Thank you for reaching out, we appreciate your feedback,” the message read. “Unfortunately, we are heading in a different direction and we are sad to see Todd and Erin go. Have a wonderful holiday season.”

Todd Collard and Erin Fraser have been top radio personalities in the Salt Lake City market since the mid-1990s when they first worked together for KISN 97.1.

In 2001, the popular couple moved to B98.7 where they reigned in the morning drive time slot for more than decade.

In 2013, the team parted ways with B98.7 and re-emerged eight months later on 100.7 FM.

Todd and Erin say they are looking for another home in Salt Lake City radio and until then fans can follow them on the Todd Erin Collard Facebook page.

  1. To say I am upset is an understatement. I have followed this couple since they were on KISN. There is not a more caring or compassionate person in the radio world than Erin. She has had an awful year and I can’t believe the radio station would do this to her. There is one more radio station that I can take off my playlist. The only reason I listened was because they had them on the air. Sooooo sad.

    • I agree with Dusty. Todd and Erin were my favorite reason to listen to rewind too. I’m sad to see them gone and now I can hear the same types of music played elsewhere. It wasn’t the music that kept me coming back for more. Wishing rewind 100.7 the best of luck in their future without their secret weapons… it was painful to listen to the new morning guy the other day.

  2. Salt Lake Radio Broadcasting will be a less friendly landscape with this dynamic couple. Not a more kind or generous team could be found in radio land. This is very sad news.

  3. I hope Scott and Brian can find another show title soon. It’s a big world and there’s plenty of room for everyone, but still it’s going to take some getting used to.

  4. Agree with Dusty! We’ve followed Todd & Erin wherever they go. Now, we will leave 100.7, too. We LOVE Todd & Erin & their lively banter, their stories and how they relate to us, the listeners & buyers! They’re too good to be left out of our radio time! We LOVE you, Todd & Erin!!♡♡♡

  5. I have loved Todd & Erin since they were on KISN 97.1 radio with Fisher. Miss them very much, so sorry for the loss of their son. Best wishes to all of them! They are AWESOME! I went to Erin’s slumber party, once, and saw her at the opening of Kohl’s in Layton.
