SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH – August 18, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) — Trans-Siberian Orchestra lovers, its officially that time again, the TSO is on their way back to Utah. They will be playing their “Winter Tour 2015: The Ghosts Of Christmas Eve” as well as also debuting their newest album titled “Letters From the Labyrinth” this winter.
The TSO is an American progressive rock and symphonic metal band originating out of New York City, NY. The producer, composer and lyricist, Paul O’Neill started the TSO and brought on Jon Olivia, Al Pitrelli and Robert Kinkel to form the core creative team.
The band began touring in 1999 after their second album was completed, then in 2007 the Washington Post referred to them as “an arena-rock juggernaut.” Their music is described as “Pink Floyd meets Yes and The Who at Radio City Music Hall.”
Their work consists of albums such as:
- Gutter Ballet – 1989
- Christmas Eve and Other Stories – 1996
- The Christmas Attic – 1998
- Beethoven’s Last Night – 2000
- The Lost Christmas Eve – 2004
- The Christmas Trilogy – 2004
- Night Castle – 2009
- Songs of Winter – 2010
- Dreams of Fireflies (On a Christmas Night) 2012
- Tales of Winter: Selections From the TSO Rock Operas – 2013
Paul O’Neill (TSO creator, lyricist and composer) stated on the band’s website: “‘The Ghosts of Christmas Eve’ brings me back to TSO’s beginnings. We recorded this TV show before TSO had ever toured and it was almost like our first show. It was filmed in a majestic old theatre in Jersey City and we got to work with the legendary Ossie Davis, Jewel and Michael Crawford. There was a magic we captured and I think that’s why it was so successful as a fundraiser for PBS. The special features some of the best songs from our catalog at the time. We want to keep the spirit of the story alive and weave it together to encompass the best of the Christmas Trilogy that fans of all three stories can enjoy. The band always gets excited when they get to do something new and now that we are finished up with ‘Letters From The Labyrinth’ there is going to be lots of new music and twists for our fans on this tour.”
