Two dead, 3 hospitalized – including responding officer – after Carbon County car fire

CARBON COUNTY, Utah, July 29, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — The Carbon County Sheriff’s Office has shared details on a fatal car fire incident that happened early Saturday morning.

Emergency crews were summoned to the scene, on Airport Road, at 5:30 a.m. That was about 20 minutes before dawn.

“It was reported that the vehicle had caught fire,” the CCSO statement says.

“Two of the occupants of the vehicle were transported to the hospital. Additionally one law enforcement officer was transported to the hospital after providing efforts to rescue those in the vehicle.

“The other two occupants of the vehicle sustained fatal injuries and did not survive the accident. This accident is currently under investigation through a collaborative effort between Utah Highway Patrol and Carbon County Sheriff’s Office.”
