BEAVER COUNTY, Utah, May 25, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — After a disappointing MRI brain scan, the mother of Beaver County 3-year-old Levi Wright is asking for prayers.
“The MRI wasn’t good, we’re shattered but it is just images that suggest a certain quality of life,” Kallie Wright wrote in a social media post. “Our real teller of all will be what Levi does over the course of a few days. Please continue to pray! I’m not giving up on my baby just yet.”
Levi, son of rodeo star Spencer Wright, had been on a toy riding tractor at about 6 p.m. Tuesday when he was swept away in a nearby creek, the Beaver County Sheriff’s Office says.
Levi was located after a search, and life-saving measures were administered before he was transported by ambulance to Beaver Valley Hospital and later by Intermountain Life Flight to Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City.
Kallie Wright shared the news Thursday that Levi, in a coma, had opened his eyes.
“LEVI WOKE UP! I am shook, we don’t know much but the doctor said it was okay for me to get excited about that and I AM! My baby is so tough!”
On Friday, she shared more information on social media.
“Just to clarify, Levi waking up doesn’t mean he’s fully coherent or talking or anything like that. Just that he opened his eyes for a period of time, wiggled with purpose and less like just a reflex as before. We still have a very long and tremendous road ahead of us, full of unknowns. Spencer and I felt like he knew we were there and could hear us. He’s been pretty sedated since then but has still had small periods of awakeness. He actually woke up during us talking to one of the doctors about his love of excavators and tractors!”
Wright wrote that Levi would undergo an MRI test soon. The MRI would provide doctors more information on the condition of his brain after the period of oxygen deprivation. She also thanked people for prayers they had offered.
“Your prayers have moved mountains but we still need a few more!”
In a second Friday post, Wright wrote about the MRI results. That full post appears below:

I’m working on getting any and all neurologists or other educated professionals with expertise in this area who are willing to view his MRI. Then just seeing what my strong boys does in the next few days. You might not hear from me for a few days, we are going to focus on our Beans!”
As of Saturday morning, the second Friday post had drawn nearly 3,000 comments, many or most of them promising prayers for Levi. In addition, the post had been shared by readers more than 2,400 times.
“Praying so hard for you all,” one follower wrote.
“You have the whole country sending you love and prayers,” said another.
“Sending so many prayers and hugs to you guys,” wrote a third. “What a roller coaster of emotions you all must be having. Hold that lil guy so close, mom and dad hugs and kisses truly do give so much strength. Keep fighting, lil Levi.”
