WEST JORDAN, Utah, July 13, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — West Jordan police are looking for leads after a victim was shot Saturday at about 1 a.m. at or near the Embarc Apartments.

“One of our officers was in the area of 7000 S. Redwood Road when he heard gunshots,” Lt. Hercules, WJPD, told Gephardt Daily.

“He called for a couple more officers to come and help investigate. They ended up finding shell casings, but not really any witness or victim or anybody.”

Hercules said that pretty soon afterward, officers were alerted to a gunshot victim showing up at Jordan Valley Medical Center.

“So our major crimes investigations unit is investigating that,” he said. “The victim’s injuries were non-life-threatening.”

Hercules said investigators are still seeking information about a shooter or shooters, and would appreciate any information people could share regarding the incident. He asked they call dispatch at 801-840-4000.

Gephardt Daily will share additional information as it becomes available.
