LOS ANGELES, April 15 (UPI) — Actress and television personality Aisha Tyler and husband Jeff Tietjens are headed for divorce.
TMZ reported Tietjens filed to end his marriage to the 45-year-oldĀ “The Talk” host this month, citing irreconcilable differences. The longtime couple have been legally separated since January 2015.
Tyler’s rep, Lisa Morbete, told the website the pair intend to remain friends despite their split. Tietjens isn’t requesting spousal support at the moment, but indicated his right to do so in the divorce documents.
Tyler and Tietjens are college sweethearts who married in 1994. The television personality openly discussed their fertility struggles on “The Talk” in 2013, revealing doctors gave her a less than five percent chance of conceiving.
“After going through a lot of [IVF] procedures … the doctor said, ‘Look, based on what we’re seeing here, I just don’t think this is going to happen for you,'” the actress recalled.
“The hardest part I think is I really love my husband,” she said while tearing up. “He’s a really good person and he would be such a good father … We just decided it wasn’t worth it to go through that.”
In addition to “The Talk,” Tyler hosts “Whose Line is it Anyway?” on The CW. She also voices Lana Kane on FX animated series “Archer” and plays Dr. Tara Lewis on CBS police procedural “Criminal Minds.”
