LOS ANGELES, Aug. 9 (UPI) — “21 Jump Street” and “The Gambler” actress Brie Larson confirmed via Twitter she has joined the cast of “Skull Island”, Legendary Pictures’ planned prequel to “King Kong”.
“Here we go! #skullisland @VogtRoberts @twhiddleston @Legendary,” Larson tweeted Saturday, alongside a photo of a type-written letter that reads: “Brie, Welcome to the Jungle. Love, King Kong.”
Her co-star Tom Hiddleston quickly posted in reply, “See you soon!”
Larson, 25, did not reveal any details about the character she will play in the film.
“Previous works have touched upon the island, but staying on and exploring this mysterious and dangerous place offers Legendary the opportunity to take audiences deeper inside this rich world with a style and scope that parallels other Legendary productions,” the company has previously said.
Max Borenstein is penning the script for the movie and Jordan Vogt-Roberts is set to direct. “Skull Island” is scheduled for release Nov. 4, 2016.
