UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif., Aug. 13 (Karen Butler) — Common, Ne-Yo and Elijah Kelley have joined the ensemble of the eagerly awaited television event The Wiz Live!, NBC announced Thursday.
Kelley will play the Scarecrow, Ne-Yo will portray the Tin Man and Common will take the role of the Bouncer, “the gatekeeper of the entrance to Emerald City, who is out to get what he can from Dorothy and her three friends,” press notes said.
Also starring Queen Latifah, Mary J. Blige and David Alan Grier, the live, musical special is to air Dec. 3.
