ATLANTA, Sept. 25 (UPI) — Musician Rich Homie Quan is reportedly under investigation after posting a video of himself smoking what appears to be weed near his 1-year-old son.
According to TMZ, the rapper — born as Dequantes Lamar — prompted Fulton County Child Protective Services and the accompanying Police Department to launch an investigation after he posted a Snapchat video of him blowing smoke directly in the air above the child.
Not long after the video was posted, fans and critics took to Twitter to question the rapper’s behavior, angry he would allegedly use marijuana around his young son.
In response to the backlash on Twitter, Homie Quan posted an Instagram photo of himself alongside the caption “Why’s everybody hating on meeee ???”
The “Type of Way” rapper could face criminal charges if the investigation proves he was smoking the illegal substance. The state of Georgia enforces strict laws against marijuana where possession of one ounce or less is a misdemeanor punishable by up to a year in jail or a max of $1,000 fine.
