CEDAR CITY, Utah, Sept. 25, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — An Iron County man has been sentenced to prison after his latest DUI convictions.

Wes Meacham was sentenced to serve up to 10 years at the Utah State Prison after being convicted of two separate felony DUI offenses, the Iron County Attorney’s Office said online Tuesday afternoon. The sentencing came Monday in Cedar City’s 5th District Court.

“Meacham has a troubling history of driving while intoxicated that began in 1987,” prosecutors said.

“He has been arrested and prosecuted for DUI in three separate states. These two most recent DUIs, that took place in Iron County, are his 6th and 7th convictions.”

The Utah Department of Public Safety indicates every instance of impaired driving is 100% preventable.

“Wes Meacham has demonstrated extensive patterns of driving while under the influence of alcohol, placing the community, public safety and the innocent motoring public at significant risk.”
