ST. GEORGE, UTAH – August 5, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) – St. George police have identified a man killed after being stuck by a car crossing Sunset Blvd. early Wednesday morning.
According to investigators, 86-year-old Gerald Gilsdorf of St. George was walking when he was hit by a vehicle traveling east on Sunset Blvd. around 7:30 a.m.
Police estimated the vehicle that struck Gilsdorf was traveling between 20-25 MPH.
St. George Fire and Gold Cross ambulance responded and provided immediate medical attention and transported Gilsdorf by ambulance to Dixie Regional Medical Center. He was later transported via Life Flight to University Medical Center in Las Vegas, NV where he passed away.
Police are still investigating the accident and believe early morning sun may have been a factor.

The driver of the vehicle was uninjured.
