Hill AFB’s 419th Fighter Wing to fly over 17 Utah cities’ celebrations on July 4

HILL AIR FORCE BASE, Utah, July 3, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — The 419th Fighter Wing may be coming to airspace above you.

On Thursday, July 4, the Fighter Wing, from Hill Air Force Base, will host its annual flyover event, appearing over the celebrations in 17 cities in northern and central Utah. See the list below.

“The 419th FB is made up of over nearly 1,200 personnel,” an event news release says. “These ‘citizen airmen’ serve part time in the military, but are full-time members of the local community. Most live, work and raise families in northern Utah.

“The 419the FW members regularly volunteer to deploy in support of contingency operations and humanitarian efforts around the world The 419th FW offers a diverse range of combat capabilities to include F-35 operations and maintenance, as well as full-spectrum mission support such as civil engineering, security forces, medical, aerial port, firefighting, supply and transportation. The 419th was the first Air Force reserve unit to fly the F-35A lightning II alongside the active-duty 388th FW at Hill AFB.”
