SOUTH SALT LAKE, Utah, June 18, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — Three people were transported to the hospital and a juvenile suspect taken into custody after stabbings at the Central Pointe Trax platform in South Salt Lake.
The stabbing victims were an adult and two juveniles, Utah Transit Authority spokesman Mike Varanakis told Gephardt Daily. Varanakis said none of the injuries sustained were life threatening.
“At about 4:20pm today, UTA officers responded to an isolated incident at the Central Pointe Trax station platform,” he said. That station is at 221 W. 2100 South.
“It was an isolated incident. That suspect is in custody. There is no Trax delay, and there is no further threat to the public.”
According to multiple sources, the juvenile suspect was apprehended at the Millcreek Trax Station as he got off the train, about two miles from the site of the stabbing.
