NORTH SALT LAKE, Utah, April 11, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — The North Salt Lake Police Department is investigating an alleged assault involving a young girl living in the Foxboro neighborhood.
“At this time we do not have any firm suspect information that can be considered reliable,” said a news release from Craig Black, Chief of Police for NSLPD. “There is a chance that the perpetrator is also a minor child, but we do not have any further description.”
The police department is providing extra patrol to this area, the news release said.
“In light of these very serious allegations, and our commitment to ensure the public has information to help protect themselves and their loved ones, we want to remind parents to know where your children are, and who they are with,” the news release went on.
“This is a very isolated incident; there are no other known victims. We cannot provide any reliable further information about this case at this time, but if and when that becomes appropriate, we will.”
The news release said that several of the command staff of the NSLPD will be in the meeting room area of the Foxboro North clubhouse at 1080 Amberly Drive, on Friday, April 12 from 5:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. so officials can meet with community members and try to answer questions and address concerns.
“At this time we don’t anticipate being able to release more details, but hopefully could be more explanatory than this short post,” the news release said of the community meeting.
Gephardt Daily will have more on this developing story as information is made available.
