RICHFIELD. Utah, June 2, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — A 7-year-old girl was hit by a car while riding her bike Wednesday in Richfield.
A statement from the Richfield City Police Department said officers were called to an auto-pedestrian accident at 300 E. Center St.
A vehicle was traveling west on Center Street when it struck the girl as she was crossing north to south on her bike.
The child suffered obvious deformity to her left leg and was taken to Sevier Valley Hospital. She later was transported to Primary Children’s Hospital to have her broken leg repaired.
The driver, Crystie Brogger, was issued a citation.
The Richfield City Police statement asked drivers to be extra careful now that children are out of school, and to drive slowly and watch for kids. It asked parents to tell their children to ride their bikes on the sidewalks and not the streets, if possible, and to make sure to wear helmets.
