OREM, Utah, June 17, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — A Silver Alert was issued for an 80-year-old Orem man with Alzheimer’s who was last seen Monday afternoon in Nevada.
A little after 7 p.m. Monday, Orem police posted on Facebook that Robert Allen Jones has been found.
“Robert was located when he used his card again at a gas station in Wilder, Idaho,” the post said. “Police are with him now and his family is on the way. He is in good health and had one epic road trip. Thank you for all the shares, we have the best followers around!”
Jones had left his home in Orem on Saturday, officials said earlier Monday.
He had credit card transactions in Oregon, Idaho, and at a Little Caesars in Winnemucca, Nevada, on Monday afternoon.
Utah’s Silver Alert program, designed to help locate older adults with dementia who are missing, was signed into law by Gov. Gary Herbert in March this year.
