South Ogden police responded to a residence in the 700 block of Maple Street after Daniel Riveroll-Picarazzi, 26, called dispatch “claiming to have shot his two roommates,” his arrest documents say.

“Two male individuals were found at the scene with gunshot wounds,” the affidavit says.

“Daniel was involved in an altercation where two individuals that he lives with were shot by him. One of the individuals that was shot by Daniel died as a result of his injury, the other individual that was shot by Daniel is still being treated at a local hospital.”

Post Miranda, Riveroll-Picazarri admitted “to owning a Glock 9mm handgun that he had in his possession. Daniel also admitted to smoking methamphetamine since December of 2023.”

Investigators from the South Ogden Police Department reported finding drug paraphernalia and evidence of marijuana use.

Daniel admitted to carrying the gun while restricted, the affidavit notes. As of Tuesday afternoon, he was being investigated for alleged possession of a dangerous weapon by a restricted person, a third-degree felony, and no charges related to the shootings or homicide had been filed.

Riveroll-Picarzarri was ordered held without bail.
