RICHFIELD, Utah, July 19, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — Utah’s student-athlete community is mourning the loss of one of its own, upon the news that Luke Peltier, 19, a sophomore wrestler at Snow College, was fatally injured in a June 17 car crash outside of Richfield.

According to a GoFundMe account established in Peltier’s name, Richfield had been his home for the last couple of years as he competed for the Snow College varsity wrestling team.

Just last week it was announced the former Alaska high school wrestling star was transferring to Utah Valley University where he was joining the UVU Wolverines wrestling squad.

“We remember the legacy Luke left, one of constant happiness and joy,” said a tribute posted on GoFundMe. “Luke always had a smile on his face, a smile that was contagious.”

According to the post, Peltier spent his summers as a white water rafting guide.

“He was an incredible friend to everyone and will be greatly missed,” the post said.
