Washington Co. elementary school placed on lockdown; deputies patrolling area after shots fired report

ENTERPRISE, Utah, Oct. 4, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — Enterprise Elementary was placed on lockdown Friday morning after a report of shots fired in the vicinity.

The call came in at about 11:16 a.m., a statement from the Washington County Sheriff‘s Office says. Deputies responded to the area of the 100 block of 100 South, Enterprise.

“As a precaution, the elementary school was placed on lockdown as per protocol,” the WCSO statement says. Deputies responded and have been circulating the area.

“No additional shots were heard by deputies, additionally no injuries or damages have been reported at this time indicating any shots were fired in the direct vicinity of the school. Deputies will continue to be in the area as schools release. Although we do not find any danger to the public at this time, The Washington County Sheriff’s Office takes any reports of possible gunshots near a school seriously.
