WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah, Nov. 3, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — There were tense moments in a West Valley City neighborhood overnight as police responded to multiple calls of shots being fired in the 4800 S. block of Coquille Avenue about 12:19 a.m.

“There were multiple calls about a large fight out in front of the residence and shots being fired,” Sgt. Lance, WVCPD, told Gephardt Daily. said. “Several officers respond and encounter several people at the scene.”

“The homeowners said they were hosting a party. It got out of hand, so they kicked everyone out as people were leaving, a fight broke out in front of the house, and allegedly somebody, we don’t know who, fired multiple gunshots. We don’t know at who or at what.”

No evidence was found, such as casings or blood, Lance said.

“There was no evidence of obvious injury. They checked all the surrounding hospitals, and didn’t find any victims that had gone in for treatment.

“The people that were on the scene were, as it was put, ‘semi-cooperative.'”

There was a report of a suspect leaving in an “older model gray vehicle,” Lance said, adding he had no additional detail on the car or occupant.

Gephardt Daily will share any additional information as it becomes available.
