SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Feb. 18, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — Vice President Joe Biden is coming to Utah next week for a meeting at the Huntsman Cancer Institute.
Last month, President Barack Obama established a new Cancer Moonshot Task Force, and placed Biden in charge. Biden lost a son to cancer last year.
The task force’s aim is to make the most of cancer funding, including Federal investments, targeted initiatives, philanthropy and other private sector efforts, and other avenues available to support research.
Biden already has met with more than 200 leading oncologists as part of the Moonshot project, for which Obama has requested more than $1 billion in funding.
Biden’s visit to the Huntsman Institute, to participate in a discussion about the Moonshot project, is scheduled for Feb. 26.
