Kolob Fire burning near Virgin now 600+ acres, 75% contained

VIRGIN, Utah, July 29, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — The Kolob Fire burning northeast of Virgin in Washington County was estimated at more than 600 acres with 75% containment Monday.

The human-caused wildfire started about 5 p.m. Saturday and led to evacuations and closures in the area of Kolob Terrace Road to state Route 9, according to Utah Fire Info.

All closures since have been lifted, state wildfire officials said.

Two structures have been damaged by the fire, and another 30-50 were threatened, officials said.
