BOX ELDER COUNTY, Utah, Sept. 11, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — A wildfire west of Promontory Point in Box Elder County is now called the Willow Springs Fire, and has grown by an estimated 230 acres in the past few hours.
A 1:48 p.m. Wednesday post by Utah Fire Info said the blaze was estimated at 50+ acres. A 3:44 p.m. post estimated the acreage at 280+.
“Local & federal resources are on scene,” the latest post says. “Crews are battling high winds which is impacting the fire spread. East Promontory Road is closed.”
