SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Nov. 19, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — A pre-dawn rollover killed one driver on Interstate 15 Tuesday.

The incident happened at 6:03 a.m. on I-15 at about 200 South, Sgt. Cameron Roden, Utah Highway Patrol, told Gephardt daily.

The pickup truck driver lost control, Roden said.

“We feel that black ice on the structure was a contributor,” he said.

“The pickup slid into the median and rolled several times. The 26-year-old male driver was ejected and died at the scene. He was thrown into the southbound lane.”

That lane was closed to rush hour traffic for more than an hour. It has since reopened.

“No other people or vehicles involved,” Roden said.

Gephardt Daily will have additional information as details are released.
