GARDEN CITY, Utah, June 9, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — A missing endangered advisory was issued Sunday for 16-year-old girl who police say left work in Garden City with a North Dakota man.

The girl was last seen leaving Bear Lake Laundry, 2141 S. Bear Lake Blvd., about 4:20 p.m. with a man in a red or maroon car with a white front bumper, according to the Rich County Sheriff’s Office.

She had been talking with the man on the internet, the advisory says. He showed up at the teen’s work and she left with him, according to the sheriff’s office.

She messaged her parents and said she would not be home, and officers later found her phone “several feet” from her place of employment, the advisory says.

She is described as between 5 feet 6 inches and 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing 165 pounds, with black hair, hazel eyes and a fair complexion. She was last seen wearing a black tank top and dark blue jeans, and carrying a small black backpack-style purse, the advisory says.

The man who is believed to have picked her up has short brown hair and scruffy facial hair with a large scratch on the left side of his face, the advisory says. He was wearing a gray and white western shirt and dark colored hat that says “NOMAD.”

The man is believed to be in his early 20s and from North Dakota.
