TAYLORSVILLE, Utah, May 26, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — Police say a 35-year-old man drowned Sunday in a pool at a Taylorsville apartment complex.
Officers and paramedics responded just after 5 p.m., following an emergency call from a tenant at an apartment complex, at 4142 S. Oak Meadows Drive, about an unresponsive man at the bottom of the pool.
“Officers and medical personnel arrived within minutes and performed extensive life-saving efforts on the man to no avail,” Taylorsville Police Sgt. Corey Lavin told Gephardt Daily.
The man had been at the pool with his two young children, Lavin said.
It’s unknown how long the man had been underwater when another tenant entered the pool area, saw the man and called 911, he said.
“We don’t know if he suffered a medical issue or what happened at this time,” Lavin said.
The pool was expected to remain closed Sunday while detectives investigated the man’s death. Foul play is not suspected, Lavin said.
“It appears as though it’s a tragic accident,” he said.
The children were unharmed and were reunited with family, Lavin said.
