NEW YORK, Sept. 29 (UPI) — The 70th annual Tony Awards ceremony is to be broadcast live from New York City on June 5, CBS announced Monday.
No host or venue for the star-studded event were revealed.
Ricky Kirshner and Glenn Weiss of White Cherry Entertainment will return as executive producers, with Weiss also serving as director for the 17th consecutive year.
The Tonys honor theater professionals for distinguished achievement on Broadway. Nominations for the prestigious prizes will be announced on April 29.
Broadway icons Kristin Chenoweth and Alan Cumming were the emcees at the 2015 edition of the show where Fun Home was named Best Musical and The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time earned the title of Best Play.
