COLUMBUS, Ohio, Feb. 16, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — Lex McAllister of “The Bachelor” is dead, and authorities and her family believes it’s a suicide, according to TMZ.

McAllister appeared with Jake Pavelka on season 14 of the show. McAllister was eliminated after the first week.

Columbus police say they received a 911 call Saturday at around 2 p.m. The caller stated McAllister had texted her earlier that day saying she wanted to “end her life,” and when the caller went to check on her it appeared McAllister had overdosed on prescription pills.

McAllister was taken to a hospital in stable condition but, according to her family, her body started to shut down. The family withdrew life support and McAllister died Tuesday morning.

A member of McAllister’s family told TMZ, she struggled with depression and bipolar disorder.

Gia Allemand, who was also a contestant on McAllister’s season of the show, committed suicide in 2013 by hanging.
