HEBER CITY, Utah, June 21, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — One person was killed and two others were injured Thursday night in a head-on crash on U.S. 40 about 5 miles south of Heber City.
A black Ford F150 was traveling west on U.S. 40 about 10:35 p.m. when it crossed into oncoming traffic to pass another vehicle, Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Cameron Roden told Gephardt Daily.
“For an unknown reason, after passing this vehicle, the F150 remained in the oncoming travel lane and struck a silver Dodge Ram pulling a flatbed head-on,” Roden said.
The 39-year-old driver and lone occupant of the Ford F150 was killed in the crash, he said. No other information about the driver was immediately released.
The driver and passenger in the Dodge Ram both were transported by ambulance to an area hospital with injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening.
The crash resulted in lane closures on U.S. 40 for about 3 1/2 hours, Roden said.
