MOHAVE COUNTY, Arizona, Oct. 18, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Authorities are investigating the discovery of two sets of human remains on the Utah-Arizona border.

According to a statement by the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office, the remains were found Monday in the desert near the Virgin River Gorge, just south of St. George.

Sheriff’s detectives said they were led to the set of remains after dispatchers received a call notifying them of the discovery.

“With the assistance of the FBI Evidence Response Team, a thorough investigation of the area has been conducted over the last four days,” the MCSO statement said. “All evidence located has been sent to the FBI Crime Lab for scientific examination to determine the identities of the remains.”

Gephardt Daily will have more on this developing story as information is made available.
