WEBER COUNTY, Utah, Oct. 4, 2021 (Gephardt Daily) — Crews from multiple fire agencies responded Monday afternoon to a structure fire on 1700 South in west Weber County.

Firefighters were dispatched at about 2:14 p.m. to 4054 W. 1700 South, where they encountered a great deal of smoke coming from the two-story, single-family home, Weber Fire District Chief Mark Lund told Gephardt Daily.

Crews were on scene for nearly 90 minutes before the fire was extinguished at about 3:07.

“The problem was finding the seat of the fire,” Lund said.

The fire was found to have started in the basement of the home, but the cause of the blaze is still under investigation, he said.

Everyone had evacuated the home, and there were no injuries.

The family was temporarily displaced, and Lund said the fire marshal estimated damages at $75,000. Smoke damage in the basement was extensive, and there was light smoke damage upstairs, Lund said.

Assisting Weber Fire District were crews from Riverdale, Ogden and Roy fire departments.
