LEHI, Utah, Sept. 3, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — An 8-year-old boy critically injured in an accidental, self-inflicted shooting in Lehi has died, police say.
“Lehi City Police Department announces the passing of an 8-year-old male who was accidently wounded by a firearm,” the news release says.
At about 7:39 p.m., Lehi City officers were dispatched to the parking lot of a Maverick gas station at 3569 N. Thanksgiving Way. The call was for a juvenile with a gunshot wound to the head.
“Life saving measures were made by officers that responded to the scene as well as bystanders,” the news release says.
“The victim was transported to a local Lehi hospital in extreme critical condition and was airlifted to a hospital up north. He passed away the morning of Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2024.”
