GLENDALE, Utah, July 27, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) – Police are investigating a fatal early morning crash in Salt Lake City’s Glendale neighborhood.
The investigation began at 4:26 a.m. Saturday, when 911 operators received reports of a crash near 1200 West 2100 South.
When officers arrived they found a Dodge Ram on its side with the driver trapped inside.
First responders from the Salt Lake Fire Department were able to extricate the 50-year-old driver, but he died on scene, according to press release from the SLCPD PR Unit.
“Based on the preliminary investigation, detectives and officers believe the Dodge was driving east on 2100 South when the driver lost control and drove through a fence then hit two parked pickup trucks causing the Dodge to roll.
“The identity of the man is not being released as detectives are working to notify his next of kin.”
This crash marks the fifth traffic-related fatality in Salt Lake City for 2024.
