SANDY, Utah, Feb. 16, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — Police in Sandy have identified two teens who were caught on surveillance Tuesday evening as they set off a fire extinguisher at the Megaplex theaters at Jordan Commons.
Sandy City Police Sgt. Dean Carriger released the videos to the media earlier Wednesday and an individual who works in the school system recognized the boys and called police.
“They were able to find out who these boys were and are now determining what charges, if any, will be filed,” Carriger said. “The two boys are in fact juveniles and live in the Sandy area.”
According to Carriger, the incident started Tuesday night just before 7 when the two teens are seen setting off a fire extinguisher. The particles that come from the powder emitted by the extinguisher triggered the fire alarm system that forced the evacuation of the theater for a short time.
No one was injured in the incident.
