CEDAR CITY, Utah, Dec. 4, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — Cedar City police were dispatched to a fatal auto-pedestrian incident Wednesday evening.
Police got the call at about 6:40 p.m., and responded to a parking lot near 100 North and 100 West.
“Upon arrival, first responders discovered an 88-year-old male trapped beneath a vehicle,” a CCPD news release says.
“The victim was extricated with the assistance of emergency responders, and immediate life-saving measures were administered. Despite these efforts, the victim tragically succumbed to his injuries.”
The man’s name is being withheld pending next-of-kin notification.
“This incident remains under active investigation by the Cedar City Police Department,” the agency statement says.
“The Cedar City Police Department extends its deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of the victim.”
